18 Jan Your Work Will Be Rewarded
“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” 2 Chron. 15:7
Do you believe that? It says it right in the pages of God’s word: your work will be rewarded. But do you believe it?
Because of all of the responsibilities that we, as women, shoulder, it’s easy to get tired and discouraged. It’s easy to feel taken advantage of; to feel like you are the person everyone uses to stand on to boost themselves to the next level. But when you’ve done your job to help everyone around you, and you stop and take a look around and realize no one is there to give you a boost, you feel defeated. That’s when resentment sneaks in.
I’m not going to minimize that feeling. It’s a hard place to be in. When you feel like you’re fighting the battle all by yourself. When you feel like others have the resources they need to care for their families, their jobs, and for themselves, and you have to scrape for everything you get. But, I’m here to tell you that God sees what you do. He sees the selfless ways you support others. He sees how you care for others. He sees you.
This means you aren’t alone in the fight. He’s fighting with you. You just need only look to see Him. Where is He working? Where is He moving? Maybe for some of you, reading this post is the first step in seeing Him moving in your life. If that’s the case, then let me humbly give you the words of Martin Luther King Jr.:
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
And know, deep down in the place that doubt can’t touch, your work will be rewarded!
